Frederick James SAVAGE, son of Andrew SAVAGE and Harriet ROBBINS, was born on 1 May 1918 in Guildford, New South Wales, Australia. He died on 21 Dec 1993 at the age of 75 in Guildford, New South Wales, Australia. Occupation : Engineer, English Electric. Long serving member of a masonic group. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal on 22nd September 1942 for his skill and resource against enemy submarines, while serving as a leading seaman on HMAS Deloraine. The action took place off Darwin and HMAS Deloraine is credited with others of sinking Japanese submarine I-124 on 20th January 1942.
